Hi, I'm Richard, a poet and illustrator living in Plymouth, UK.
I'm generally amused by the surreal/abstract/absurd in the every day, and I try to reflect that in my work where possible.
My poetry and haiku have been published internationally in a bunch of publications, including Tears in the Fence, Orbis, and Presence. I have two collections of poetry: The Strangest Thankyou (2012) and Zygote Poems (2015), both published by Cultured Llama. I have also edited and co-edited the creative publications: Symmetry Pebbles, INK, Tribe, and Thief. I wrote articles and interviews for Tribe Media, too.
In 2014, I graduated from Plymouth University with a BA (Hons) in Creative Writing.
If you'd like a commission, I will consider this. You can get a good hold of me via my contact page, or send an email directly to hello@richardthomasthings.com.
Bonus thing: If you like, you can read an article I wrote about fatherhood and poetry for Huffington Post UK here.
